Garuda Blows the Visit Indonesia Year Slogan

National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia is willing to spend its own money to rectify the Visit Indonesia Year slogan painted on its 10 planes serving international routes. The slogan, “Celebrating 100 Years of Nation’s Awakening,” has been criticized as “grammatically incorrect” and “awkward”.

The government`s culture and tourism department is currently making preparations for the launching of a “Visit Indonesia Year” in the middle of 2007. “A `Visit Indonesia Year` (VIY) is now in the final phase of preparation. We will launch it in July or August,” Culture and Tourism Minister Jero Wacik said.
