If there is a travel show anywhere then you can be sure that I will go and see what is happening and what’s on offer. Although some of these travel shows are exclusive to sellers and buyers in the travel industry, I have never really had much trouble weaving my way inside. Now in its 14th year, Indonesia’s annual travel mart - Tourism Indonesia Mart & Expo (TIME) – will be held in Makassar in South Sulawesi on October 14-17 and should prove to be one of the best ever, especially considering it is the Year of Indonesia 2008. Actually, the travel mart is organized on a business to business basis. Call it a meeting place if you like for buyers and sellers to interact and showcase their products. The Expo covers all tourist destinations, tourism objects, and those which relate to Eco-Tourism and Maritime Tourism. The Makassar Municipality is working on the completion of new infrastructure so that these are ready for the expo.They includes the 11 kilometer of highway connecting Makassar city centre to airport as well as the completion of Hasanuddin International Airport.
