There is an excellent new addition to the Baliblog site- the Baliblog Forum. As most of you know Baliblog was made famous by a good friend of many years, Nick O’Neil. The forum has only just started and already has attracted a lot of visitors. You will have to log-in to make comments or post new topics. It will prove challenging to a lot of the already established Bali forums that you will find on the internet. So, get all the up-to-date information you need for your upcoming trip to Bali or if you want, ask a question!.

The new forum might help since Bali Blog was so popular for so long. I think Nick left the blog over two months ago since I noticed the writing style suddenly changed. Do you know what Nick is doing these days? Is he still in Bali?

Hi Carl,

Nice to hear from you. Nick is somewhere in South America doing his thing and good on him!. I think the forum will be a success once the word gets around. As for Baliblog, it too will improve and no doubt will be better than ever.

Are you still in San Francisco?

Yep, I’m still in San Francisco, ever since my college days, and don’t intend to leave, except for more travels in Asia. I’ve got your blog on my Bloglines RSS reader, so keep up the good work with the posts. You really process an amazing amount of information, but I do miss your great photography, which I think I’ve used a few times on my blog.

Hi Ashley,

Nick is no longer with Baliblog and is at the moment somewhere in South America trekking around. Ika and Jevon are fine and are residing in Jimbaran Bay at the moment. I spoke to Ika when I was in Bali last and she expects Nick back soon.

Indonesia is a natural Paradise. Spoiled with extreme crimes of opportunity.Such as pick-pockets throughout the country.
Indonesia is an amazing and beautiful world but Indonesian people makes it a scary Hell.
Crime dominates the daily life.Especially in major metropolitan areas. There are often reports of shops, restaurants and hotel staff writing down credit-cards-numbers of customers and than making purchase by using your credit-card.
One must be aware of the surroundings in large crowds. Violent assaults can happen in every minuet. Tourists must keep away from night-spots.
“Drink-Spiking” are most common in night-clubs all over Indonesia. The drug used in the drink can be extremely powerful. Besides putting the victim in unconscious state for long period of time. The side effects includes memory-loss, nausea, strong-headaches and vomiting.
Counter-Terrorism efforts have had good results. But the threat remains. Terrorists attacks could occur with little or no warnings. The JI. network is very active in all Indonesia.
Traffic can be big problem to visitors especially by night is very dangerous.
Level of sanitation and health-care in Indonesia, is below standard.
There are continuous reports from hotel-rooms from tourist having been missing their belongings like credit-cards and Passports.
First time visitors to Indonesia must bare in mind.’As soon as you touch Indonesian Soil’. The mentality of every Indonesian is only centered on how they going to bribe. This situation in Indonesia is not to blame the Government or the Police or the Country. But the people of Indonesia
are extremely corrupt.
It is advisable to reconsider need to travel Indonesia. But if you just the same decide to try your luck and put your life in manifest jeopardy. You must exercise extreme caution day and night
