Bumi Khatulistiwa Cultural Festival: Pontianak, West Kalimantan

This festival is on today in Pontianak if you are travelling in Kalimantan. Held twice a year, it is to commemorate the natural phenomenon of the city of Pontianak which lies on the imaginary Equator line.

Features of the festival include traditional West Kalimantan art, tourism and cultural exhibitions, and also traditional sports competitions. Also there is an Equator young men and lady competition. Seminars are held thus attracting the young and the old alike.
