Durian – A Gourmet of Smell and Taste

durian.jpg Delightful Durian!. Candika loves it and I dislike it. I do, however, like Durian ice-cream but even that is rare to find these days. Durian is a fruit not so well liked by westerners as they consider the odour to be like a combination of a sewer and shit cheese, and only because it has a pungent. Durian has a very thick and thorny husk usually opened with a machete or large knife. Inside there are large sections that are pale yellow in colour. The flesh is a thick and rich, sweet custard. The very best durians are the most expensive of all fruits during a normal harvest year.

Everybody has there own opinion of Durian fruit and the poor fruit has a reputation for stinking places out. Durian is forbidden on airlines and in restaurants and so it’s at homes and on the street where the gourmet food is devoured. John McBeth has his own view about Durian fruit.
