Tawur Agung Kesanga: Bali

Today in Bali is Tawur Agung Kesanga. This is the great sacrificial ceremony held to welcome Nyepi Holiday at every family compound, village and town centre up to the provincial area and is focused at Puputan Square in front of the Governor’s Residence in downtown Denpasar. This is followed at night by processions of Ogoh-Ogoh, huge paper mache monsters whose purpose it is to awaken the evil spirits.
